In case you did not know about this, the Adhan, or Islamic call to prayer, is now blasting across Minneapolis five times per day.
The Minneapolis City Council – with Muslim members – approved a resolution unanimously back in 2023 that changed the city’s noise ordinance to accommodate this public disruption.
Minneapolis is the first major US city where the adhan has become law. Minneapolis set a precedent for other Muslim communities to follow.
The Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) celebrated the passage of the resolution at the time.
Of course, Christian and Jewish groups also reportedly supported the development. Wow.
According to the CRC Network, the Adhan is the announcement of a number of key doctrines in Arabic as a call to prayer.
It states:
Allahu akbar= Allah is greater than… 4x
Ashadu an la ilaha illa Allah= I bear witness that there is no god but Allah…2x
Ashadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah= I bear witness that Muhammad is the apostle of Allah…2x
Hayya ala s-salah= Come to prayer…2x
Hayya ala l-falah= Come to success/prosperity…2x
…only at the pre-dawn prayer…As-salatu khayru min an-nawm=Prayer is better than sleep
Allahu akbar= Allah is greater than…2x
La ilaha illa Allah=There is no god but Allah…2x
New York City also broadcasts the Adhan on Fridays and during Ramadan. The broadcasts have to follow the city’s noise rules and not go over a certain number of decibels. There are more than 285 mosques today in New York City and 450,000 Muslims living there.

Conservatives leaders stay silent.
